Skagit Academy’s Learning Center is our educational program for K-8 students. Families partner with Skagit Academy staff to provide tailored and enriching educational experiences for their students.
While the parent is their student’s primary instructor, there is certificated teacher oversight and robust support. Each family has a certificated teacher who works with them to develop the student’s Written Student Learning Plan. The certificated teacher also serves as a resource for families by providing curriculum options, establishing learning goals, selecting onsite class offerings, suggestions for learning strategies and teaching techniques, help with learning challenges, and general support.
Additionally, core subject (math, ELA, science, and social studies) and enrichment courses are available on Mondays and Thursdays – approximately 80 classes are offered to students with an average class size of just 12 students. Students can take a variety of classes and engage with peers during this time. Students in 5th-8th grades may be able to participate in Academy and Academy preparatory programs, including our transitional Prep program. For more information on this program, visit its page.
